Summer 2026 - La Jolla, CA

Marine Street Financial – Summer Internship Program

About Us

Marine Street Financial is a San Diego-based wealth management firm advising individuals and businesses on investment management, financial planning, and employer-sponsored retirement plans. Our team works directly with business owners, executives, and individuals to design and manage real-world financial strategies.

Internship Program

This is a hands-on, in-office internship designed to give students real exposure to the financial advisory industry.

Interns will not be stuck doing busy work all day — but this is also not a classroom-style program. You will be working directly with our team supporting real client activity, operations, and growth initiatives.

The goal is simple: Learn how a real wealth management firm operates while contributing to the day-to-day workflow of the business.

What This Internship Is

By the end of the internship, strong candidates will have exposure to:

  • How financial advisors actually work with clients

  • How 401(k) plans and retirement systems function

  • Real-world use of investments, insurance, and annuities

  • How advisors win and manage client relationships

  • CRM systems and operational workflows inside a financial firm

  • The difference between theory (school) vs real-world finance

What You’ll Be Doing

Interns will assist across both retirement plan advisory (401k) and individual wealth management (retail clients).

Core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting client service and administrative workflows

  • Assisting with financial planning data entry (RightCapital)

  • Helping maintain and update CRM systems (Wealthbox)

  • Preparing client materials, presentations, and plan review snapshots

  • Conducting prospect research for business development

  • Assisting with paperwork processing and coordination with vendors

  • Supporting internal systems and process improvements

Additional opportunities (based on performance):

  • Sitting in on client and prospect meetings

  • Assisting with outreach efforts (email / calling)

  • Participating in sales and business development initiatives

What You’ll Learn

  • Round 1: Interview with Advisor

  • Round 2: Interview with Advisor

  • Round 3: Interview with Senior Leadership

  • Final Round: Team Fit Conversation (if applicable)
